- THE COLD WAR : The Cold War is an ideological war that opposes the USSR and the United States of America. The USA and USSR have different points of disagreement. Effectively, the political system in the USA is a democracy where the citizens are free to express themselves and the political system in the USSR is communism. Both of the nations resort to propaganda to promote their ideas and to gain worldwide influence. Rapidly, when the cold war began in 1945, it was not only a conflict between the USA and the USSR but a conflict that opposed two different blocs. Gradually, the United States and the USSR built their respective zones of influence and divided the world into two antagonistic camps. The soviet bloc (on the east) and the western bloc (the occidental countries).The specificity of the cold war is that the blocs never had an armed conflict. Everything was about nuclear deterrence. The major crisis of the Cold War are the Berlin Blockade, the Vietnam War and The Cuban Missile Crisis.The Cold War end in 1991 after the fall of the USSR
