CAUSES
Serbia's Palace was stormed, and with it came the murder of the King Alexander I Obrenovic and Queen Draga. After the murder of Serbia's King and Queen, they were very unfriendly to their neighboring countries and wanted to build their power. Over the next few years, Serbian citizens from Austro-Hungary made many unsuccessful assassination attempts to Austro-Hungarian officials. The Archduke Frandz Fernand supported increased federalism and was perceived as a threat to Serbian Independence from the black hand.

Effects
After the Archdukes assassination, people were in shock and despair. Germany and Austria-Hungary demanded an investigation, where they found and arrested the assassins on Serbian soil. Austria-Hungary wrote a letter to Serbia stating certain demands, which they only accepted two out of the nine. On July 28th, 1914 Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia soon involving Russia and France to aid Austria-Hungry. After the war started almost all the great powers picked a side. This was the spark of World War I
