GOVERNMENT AND PARLIAMENT

Citizens will vote for a person in each electorate (geographical area), during an election.
HOW THE GOVERNMENT IS FORMED
The person with the most votes will be elected to parliament, where they are called a Member of Parliament (MP). The political party with the most MP’s form up the government.
The Senate has the power to review any legislation, policies, etc, to keep the Government in check.They are also spread out evenly throughout the country, unlike the House of Representatives. There are 76 senators in the Senate

The House of Representatives come up with legislation before becoming laws.They represent a geographic area, known as electorates or seats. There are 151 member of parliament in the House of Representatives.
