  • STATIC POPULATION: HARDY-WEINBERG EQUILIBRIUM-In 1908, British mathematician Geofrey Harold Hardy and German physician WilhelmWeinberg, working independently, developed the fundamental relationship between gene andgenotypic frequencies over many generations under certain assumptions.
  • APPLICATION OF POPULATION GENETICS TO QUANTITATIVE TRAITS-The preceding sections describe concepts of population genetics as they apply toqualitative traits. Some economically important traits such as hair color ,coat patter, horns, redblood cell antigens, serum protein, milk protein, leukocyte antigens, major histocompatibilitycomplex, and various lethal and semi-lethals for most species may be simply inherited.
  • DYNAMIC POPULATION: CHANGES IN GENE FREQUENCY-a population in equilibrium where the gene and genotypicfrequencies remain constant in a population. In this topic, changes in gene and genotypicfrequencies are examined when any of conditions required by the Hardy-Weinberg law are notmet.
  • Nonrandom mating- Nonrandom mating occurs when rules dictating the mating strategy are imposed.
  • MutationMutation is the sudden heritable change in the genetic material and the information itcarries. It is the ultimate source of new genetic material for evolutionary processes and selection.
  • THE FIVE FACTOR UNDER DYNAMIC POPULATION: CHANGES IN GENE FREQUENCY
  • Migration-Migration is a process in which animals from one breeding population transfer to another
  • Small Population sizeIn small populations, fluctuations in gene frequency may occur from generation to thenext simply because of chance variation.
  • I hope we leared something, thank you guys.
  • So I guest, we're done so thank you for the cooperation guys!
  • okay, see next time guys!
