- Paulo Saves The Jungle

- Paulo was abandoned in the jungle as a baby. This gorilla found him and decided to protect him. The gorilla's name is Cesar.

- Paulo learns to walk and talk with the help of Cesar and his other friends. Cesar and Paulo love spending time together.

- One day, Paulo was found by a couple and he went to go live in their village. He greatly enjoyed his time with the animals but also wanted to have parents like the animals did.

- Paulo began living with his new parents, but continued to visit Cesar and his other friends in the jungle.

- Paulo and Cesar kept hanging out but Paulo got busy with school and could not see him as often.

- One day, when Paulo was at school, his friends in the jungle were pushed out of their home by big machines and bad people.

- These bad people began to cut down trees from Cesar's home and were destroying the animal's habitat.

- Cesar tried to stop these people from destroying his home, but he was badly injured.

- Paulo was very sad for Cesar. Paulos parents were angry that people were damaging the forest near their houses and the habitats of Paulos friends.

- These bad people were doing something called "deforestation". They cut down healthy trees that provide people oxygen. Paulos family and his town knew they needed to do something. They began protesting in their town which grew attention.

- With the help of his town, Paulo was able to get the bad people to stop destroying the forest. They were illegally cutting the trees down. Later, Cesar healed and Paulo and his friends could celebrate in the forest.

- This story is important because it relates to Goal 15 of the United Nations "Sustainable Development Goals". This goal is to "protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of forests and ecosystems." This is important because the forests we are protecting give us oxygen, they balance ecosystems and are homes of animals like Cesar.
