Hello there, dear sir! I've been traveling around the world, and have finally just gotten here to the south! Do you think you could help me understand it better?
Why, of course! Though, our way of life is threatened by the tyrannical northerners! They want to destroy our economy, and take away our slaves, no matter the cost. Just yesterday I read that one of their abolishinist terrorists tried to start a slave uprising!

I-I would have never thought that the highly cultured south I had heard of would practice the barbaric institution of slavery! I mean, to keep your fellow man in bondage?...
Slavery is the one thing keeping our economy alive. Without it, there would be no cotton, no southern wealth, and really, no south. And, don't say that they're "our fellow man". They are lesser beings, made by God to be less than us, and subservient.

Ah, I truly love rivers! I have many found memories of the Thames back in jolly old England. Do rivers have any impact on life here?
Why, yes! Rivers like this one that carve through the south are truly the life-blood of our society, as without them, our cotton would be too expensive to purchase or to transport over mountains. It's also a nice refreshing view from the fertile fields and the swamps.
