The password you can't remember should've been stored in your long-term memory, but it seems you can't find it. Now why might someone forget something like that?
Well, memory can be forgotten because of things like memory interference, decay, or repression. I don't think that this memory was troubling, so I doubt it was repressed, and I rehearse it a lot, so it shouldn't be decayed at this point. This just leaves me with interference...

Well, I've been needing to remember a lot of passwords lately, and I guess I may have just mixed them up. Trying to remember other passwords interfered with my ability to remember this one. If only I could figure out which it actually is...
