- It has been three years.. Almost everyone is dead. We finally have a way out of this place.. all of these years of suffering and it is all over. We are very grateful for Rolfe becasue he had the great idea to plant tobacco. We ar all in his favor. not to mention Smith.. the great leader of Jamestown.
- The Virginia Company promised us money.. but all we got was death and despair. I mean, we got money but that was after three years. Thank god we had people like Rolfe and Smith.. But, Pocahontas did help. she and Smith convinced Chief Powhatan to give us food... But that didn't help from the Bubonic Plague that sickened us and killed almost every one of us.
- When we came to America, the Indians were not happy. They were constantly picking us off so we had to do something. We had to train, so we did. Although, there was accidents due to the fact that most of us were gentlemen that were looking for gold. We needed a leader.. sadly our best went down to disease. Gosnold will be missed. So the next best option was Smith. He is our savior... he, along with Pocahontas have convinced the chief that their tribe souldn't slaughter us.. Thank God.
- It has been almost 2 years and I have ended up with the plague. Some of my friends are dying because of salt water poisoning. And, we hve diswcovered that there are Spanish spies that are lacing our water with lead. (Salt water is still worse though) On a brighter note, we have gotten word that there are new people coming over now! And the best part is? They actually have expirience with things like cooking!!
- 4 months have passed since I caught the plague. My symptoms are clearing up so I believe I will survive. But, the rest of my friends are all starving, some have resoted to eating each other.. When the new people came along, starvation and diesease hit them like a tidal wave. almost everyone is dead but I have survived because my body has gotten use to the little food because of the plague. I hope that at least a handful make it out alive.. because then we could actually get out of here.
- The Starving Time is waht we have named this year.. it is now November and we have a only a handful of people that have survived, including me. We finally ended up making money by planting tobacco with the help of the new people... We are going to set sail back to England in a few days so I will write again in a couple months.. I hope to meet up with Smith back in England to thank him. Wish me luck. and I will never return to Jamestown again!!
