I wonder why the lake looks brown and why no fish are biting my bait could it be that there is no fish

yes i have noticed and I believe that it has something to do with the pH of the water. When the pH is affected the water turns brown

Pure water has a pH of 7, acid solutions have a pH less than 7, and alkaline solutions a pH greater than 7.
As pH levels move away from this range (up or down) it can stress animal systems and reduce hatching and survival rates. The further outside of the optimum pH range a value is, the higher the mortality rates. The more sensitive a species, the more affected it is by changes in pH.
So balanced pH is needed for all life to cherish
