The old man is reading his books in an effort to hide from the pain of losing Lenore when he hears a knock on his chamber door.
Climax

After opening his chamber door and finding no one on the other side, the man checks his window and a Raven flies in.
Falling Action

The man begins to think of Lenore and begs the raven to release him from his sadness of losing Lenore.
Resolution
After being told by the raven that he will never forget the loss of Lenore the man becomes angry and demands to know if he'll ever see her again.
Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore.
The man becomes extremely angry and demands the raven to leave and never return.
Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken! Quit the bust above my door!
The man realizes he will never get over Lenore as the raven remains perched above his chamber door.
