Billy Jo father left out a bucket of Kerosene and it catches on fire burning Billy Jo and her mother hand. A couple weeks later Billy Jo mother Polly goes into labor while having her son she passed away. Franklin (the newborn baby) passed away a couple weeks later after his mother.

Later that day, She had to practice the piano but her hands still was hurting.
The father started distancing himself from his life and Billy Jo. He started working long shift hours at his new job.
