- The class was assigned a group project for their final assignment. They had to research a country and make a presentation to share with the class.

- And our last group is: Mary, Nick, Brett and Laura.

- Alright, let's get into our groups and decide what country you will research.
- Šmykľavka: 4
- Ok so Brett isn't here today but I think we should decide what country we want to research.

- Oh! Can we do England because they play soccer!!
- Šmykľavka: 6
- Or we could do Germany because I went there in the summer.
- Šmykľavka: 7
- Well I think they play soccer in Germany too. So why don't we do Germany, and Nick, you can research soccer and other sports there! Maybe you'll even find a new team to cheer for!

- Sounds good to me!

- This is an example of intragroup conflict because the members of the group have different opinions and need to make a decision. Mary uses a compromising approach to solve the conflict by making sure that everyone gets at least part of what they want. (1)

- I can research the food and Nick can research sports. What do you want to research Laura?

- Umm I'm not sure... Maybe I can do the culture?

- That sounds good! Brett can pick a topic when he gets back tomorrow. Let's head to the library and start researching.
- Šmykľavka: 13
- On the way to the library, Nick stops at his locker. There he sees Oliver, another boy from the class. Oliver's group has also decided to research Germany and he thinks Nick's group is copying them.
- You can't just copy everything we do! It's not fair! We picked Germany first because it is the coolest country. Why can't you just pick your own country. I'm going to tell the teacher that you're copying us!!

- Nick gets upset because Oliver is yelling at him and reacts by yelling back. This makes the problem worse.
- Well you aren't the boss of me and I'm going to tell the teacher that you copied us!

- Wow wow wow! What is going on! Lets calm down and we can figure it out.
