- August 1, 1944
- The uprising began. Polish resistance started attacking every German position in the country.
- Halt!
- The fighting was fierce, Warsaw was bombed to dust within weeks...
- The Nazis were winning because we did not have tanks or planes.
- The Soviets were our last hope now.
- Except the Soviet forces promised never came... they waited on the other side of the river, watching all Polish resistance getting slaughtered.
- The Soviet forces only came after all Polish resistance were crushed, taking control of Poland.
- The Soviets lied to us!
- October 2, 1944
- Lets go, we don't have much time.
- The surviving resistance all fled... I went up to the Baltic sea and fled to neutral Sweden.
- The war ended in 1945, but Poland was under Soviet occupation as a puppet state until late 1989.
- I never went back to Poland.
