What I've Learned in Cultural Anthropology

Text z Príbehu

  • Šmykľavka: 1
  • This semester has been an amazing learning experience. Cultural Anthropology opened my mind to so much information that I had not known before.
  • Šmykľavka: 2
  • Something new I learned was from Chapter 4: Language. I believe communication is one of the most important aspects of human life. And language is used to express ourselves within our culture whether it is verbal or non-verbal.
  • But I was really excited to learn about the Pidgin and Creole languages and how they developed to ensure the closeness within a culture taken away from their homelands, while also trying to acclimate to the new people and surroundings they may have been forced into to.
  • Šmykľavka: 3
  • From learning about the four subfields of Anthropology and the process of how an anthropologist executes their practice and receives information, to the history of economics and subsistence, as well as kinship and the concept of culture, this class helped me learn more about myself and open my third eye wider than ever before. Five years from now, I can only imagine that after taking this class, my compassion for humans from all around the world will be enhanced more than it has ever been.
