- LIQUID - A liqiud is made of of tiny particles that move very slowly past each other in open spaces. The always fill the shape of the container.
- SOLID - A solid is a state of matter that retains its shape. The particles of a solid are tightly packed together and shake in place. The particles ar not free to move within the substance. Solids have a fixed shape and a defintie volume.
- GAS - Gas is state of matter that had no fixed shape and no fixed volume. Unlike solids and liqiuds there is big spaces between each particle and they move very qiuckly. Gases have very low kinetic energy.
- The Particle theory has different components to it. - Particle speed increases and decreases as heat energy increases and decreases - Particles are always in motion- The force of attraction depends on the type of particle- particles have space between them etc.
- What is the particle theory?
- HETEROGENOUS AND HOMOGENOUS
- Heterogeneous is when you can tell the difference between a mixture of molecules.Examples: Scrambled eggs, soup, sandwich.
- Homogeneous means when you can't tell the difference between a molecule mixture. You can't separate them. Example : Metal
- What about homogenous?
