- The sneakers
- Arrested
- But I didn't steal the shoes!
- You're under arrest!
- Stanley arrives
- Oh well... Looks like I'm stuck here for the next six months...
- Clyde Livingstone's sneakers hit Stanley on the head.
- Digging for Character
- Stanley Yelnats is accused of stealing Clyde's sneakers.
- Zero runs away
- Stanley is then taken to Camp Green Lake instead of jail.
- The Inspection
- Stanley and his campmates, X-ray, Suid, Magnet, Zig-zag, Armpit and Zero are forced to dig holes in order to build 'character'
- Zero causes a disruption and runs away. Stanley follows him.
- Camp Green Lake is inspected, and soon Stanley and Zero return but are taken out of Camp Green Lake and back tot their family
