  • This slide represents The Boston Tea party(aka the tea act,) 1773. The British tea companies didn't pay the same tax as colonists, and sold it for less. This caused the merchants to go out of business and caused them to be very angry. In protest, lots of colonist and merchents dressed up as native Americans and dumped tea into the Boston harbor.

  • This slide represents The stamp act, 1765. This is when they taxed stamps and paper goods to get more money after they lost so much money during the war. people were very frustrated with this because they had no representation on parliament and protested. after the protesting the act was removed by the parliament.

  • This slide represents The Townshend acts, 1767. This is when they taxed imported goods such as glass, paper, and tea. These good were imported because you were not able to make them in the colonies. Because of the new taxes people smuggled in those goods.
