- Sugar act
- After the seven year war, the British needed a way to pay it off. The sugar act was created. The stamp act was the first direct tax to the colonies . The colonist had to pay taxes on sugar and things made with it. The colonists were upset they were getting taxed without representation. The act was repealed two years later.

- The stamp act, like the sugar act, was a way of paying off the seven year war. All legal documents had to have a special stamp. Buying the stamps were the tax. The colonists were not happy and boycotted. The stamp act began on October 7th, 1765 and ended October 25th, 1765.

- The townshend act was passed on june 15, 1767. The townshend act was created by Charles Townshend, a treasurer. He had an idea to make mega profit. Townshend thought that colonist would be more willing to pay taxes on imported goods rather than goods made localy. The colonists werent .

- Tho Boston Massacre happened on March 5th 1770. A drunk colonist and a British soldier got in a altercation. The problem ended in many colonist and about seven other soldiers came as well. The colonist threw snow. Eventually someone fired a shot but no one knows which side it came from but two British soldiers were charged

- The Boston Tea Party takes place on December 17th, 1773. British decided to put a tax on tea. The colonits were NOT happy. The colonists took it among themselves to dress up as Indians and board a ship that carried alot of British tea. They poured all of the tea into the Boston Harbor. 92,000 pounds were tossed. Thats estimated to be one million dollars today.

- In the year 1774, the intolerable acts were passed. The intolerable acts was parliaments way of punishing the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. Boston port act closed the Boston port until all the money that was lost is paid back. Another act says that British officals could be tried by great Britain. The last act made the colonist house and feed the British soldiers.
