you know this really says a lot about the current state of our modern society.The characters in the story show hatred towards each other, without fully understanding why. Just like today, people do harmful things because of blind malice without fully understanding why. In Romeo and Juliet both families have an ancient grudge that causes many issues and conflicts throughout the story. In act 1, a fight breaks out that causes the prince to make a decree stating that execution will be given to anyone who starts a fight on the streets. Romeo is eventually found in a fight with Tybalt (a Capulet) who has started a battle. Romeo is then banished, separated from Juliet, which leads to both of them dying. Because of unnecessary tension between these two groups, they both lost something they loved. We can see similar situations in the world today, with a multitude of people’s lives being worsened due to fighting over old grudges that started decades ago. Though, oftentimes there is a justifiable reason to fight, holding grudges that have become tradition can be dangerous and lead to everyone losing.
