- Hey dad, today i had a history class in which i got assigned a presentation about ancient egypt, i was hoping you would help me understand some more about them,

- The religion of Ancient Egypt lasted for more than 3,000 years, and was polytheistic, meaning there were a multitude of deities, who were believed to reside within and control the forces of nature.

- Well, The gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt were an there were over 2,000 deities in the Egyptian pantheon. Some of these deities' names are well known: Isis, Osiris, Horus, Amun, Ra, Hathor, Bastet, Thoth, Anubis, and Ptah while many others less so.

- Much of the surviving—i.e., statues for tombs. Most of the remainder was made for placing in temples—votive for private persons and ritual for royal and divine representations. Royal colossi were ritual and also served to proclaim the grandeur and power of the king. By itself, however, a statue could represent no one unless it carriedan identification in hieroglyphs. Lots of their sculptures where funerary.

- Sources cite at least 118 identified Egyptian pyramids. Most were built as tombs for the country's pharaohs and their consorts during the Old and Middle kingom periods.

- Ancient Egypt had three main social classes--upper, middle, andlower. The upper class consisted of the royal family, richlandowners, government officials, important priests and armyofficers, and doctors. The middle class was made up chiefly ofmerchants, manufacturers, and artisans. The lower class, thelargest class by far, consisted of unskilled labourers. Most ofthem worked on farms. Prisoners captured in foreign wars becameslaves and formed a separate class.
