- MCO, or its full name, Malaysian Government Movement Control Order, is a preventive measure that was imposed by the government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country on 18 March 2020. In other words, it is a 'lockdown'. During the MCO, we are asked by the government to stay at home and most of the social activities are not allowed.
- What is MCO?
- Hello, everyone. My name is Teo Kuan Wei. Welcome to my video. Today, I am going to share about what I do during the MCO.
- It is a struggle to wake up that early in the morning. Then, I sometimes feel sleepy in class, which causes me cannot fully focus on the lecture.
- Usually, I wake up around 8 am, brush my teeth and clean up. But sometimes I need to wake up earlier because I have some classes in the early morning.
- Kaya is one of the Malaysian favourite jams. It is a thick coconut jam flavoured with pandan and made with eggs, sugar and coconut milk. I love eating kaya because it gets a good consistency and a sweet but not too heavy flavour.
- Now is my breakfast time. As usual, I prepare for myself a cup of tea and some bread. For the bread, of course, I will put some kaya on it.
- Alright, the class has finished, so, after this, I will go out for a while to the supermarket. At the same time, I will also talk about my experiences or what I do when I go out during the MCO.
- Besides, I also feel a bit disappointed because I still have not gotten a chance to enjoy my university life at UTM, although now I am in the second semester.
- After that, I join the class through Webex. For me, it is really a new experience because this is the first time I study online.
- Okay, I have reached the supermarket. Before entering it, I will definitely scan and record my movement via MySejahtera and body temperature. It is important to scan MySejahtera because it helps the government to detect and take action against Covid-19 cases.
- So, let's go. Oh... Before that, I need to wear a mask.
- I come here because I want to buy some snacks and chips to eat at home.
