- if you haven't- you really need to see some more Autistic culture.
- you may have heard of light it up blue day and also seen opposing media promoting "red instead"
- so, why red instead?
- light it up blue comes from autism $peaks. which is a terrible hate group and probably wants to eliminate rainbows and kittens and anything nice forever. it has done highly offensive and hateful things. they are not a charity.
- well, we Autistics got tired of it. we fought back. we showed our anger and our fear and our grief, and then said, "we won't let you do this to us." pride is a rebellion for the oppressed. so we were proud of Autism. we got tired of waiting for them to accept us, so we accepted us ourselves.
- that was the red instead movement.
