- The Battle of Lexington and Concord kicked off the Revolutionary war. It showed the strength of the patriot force. African Americans fought with the colonists in this war. The Native Americans fought with the British through out the Revolutionary war.

- The Battle of Saratoga was a huge turning point in the Revolutionary war. It gave the Patriots a morale boost and persuaded the Spanish, French, and Dutch to join against the mutual rival. Mny

- In the winter of 1777 George Washington took his troops to Valley Forge. They could effectively defend the British if they were attacked. They used the time there for training with modern military strategies. Many troops died of disease.

- Battle of Yorktown was fought on our home soil with about 2,500 Americans and 4,000 French who were facing around 8,000 British. During the whole war woman followed the army around to cook, clean, and serve as medical help. In this war, the Charles Lord Cornwallis surrendered.

- The Treaty of Paris marked the end of the war. It was signed by King George the third and representatives of the US.
