- If you are inside, do not leave. Stay inside and don't stand under a doorway.
- Drop to your hands and knees so the earthquake doesn't knock you over.
- If possible, hide under a sturdy desk or table.
- Don't hide in the corner of outside walls or under windows, light fixtures, or shelves.
- If you are in bed, stay there and cover your head with a pillow.
- If you are outside, move away from power lines, street lights, bridges, overpasses, and buildings. When you find an open space, drop to the ground and cover your head with your hands.
