- own my lease
- So I called the leasing company to find out how to make the final payment
- Last year, I decided to buy my wife's VW Routan off of lease and sell it myself.
- The leasing company told me I needed to go to a dealer to buy my car
- And then tried to charge me hundreds of dollars in extra fees!
- The dealer took hours to generate all kinds of paperwork
- For the dealer, it doesn't matter that I already had a firm price from my lease and the car.
- So I thought, what if there was a better way?
- I shouldn't even need to go to a car dealer!
- After all, this should be a simple transaction with the leasing company
- I would just need to:
- Change my registration with the state
- Buy my car from the leasing company
- Remove the leasing company from my insurance
- Should that take two hours of my life and $300-$500 in sales commission?
- I should be able to do this from home over the Internet

- There are probably others out there who feel the way...
- I would just need to facilitate the transaction, either manually or through integration
- Just make it easy and convenient for the customer...
- I think they would pay for that
- Maybe as much as they would pay a dealer
- Would banks pay to get access to these potential customers?
- Plus, a lot of them would need financing.
- An even better question... could this actually work?
