Storyboard Text

  • In this first scene, Montag meets this girl named Clarisse, and she becomes a huge part of his life. Clarisse is a loud and joyful character and shapes the story to come for Montag. She tells him about the past and about present-day life. ( Ray Bradbury 5-9)
  • In this next scene, Montag and his crew of firefighters start to burn down the old lady's house because it has a bunch of books in it, and the lady wouldn't get rid of them. They start to burn down the house and the lady wouldn't get out of the house, so Montag tried to get her out of the house, but she wouldn't budge. Montag ran out of the house watching the old lady get burnt alive, and stealing a book from her house. This action scarred Montag as he couldn't get this off his mind.( Ray Bradbury 36-39 )
  • In this final scene, Montag calls out of work at the fire station because he feels "sick" from watching a woman getting burnt alive, and taking a book from the burning house. Then his boss, Beatty, came into his house trying to make Montag confess he took the book. Montag was frightened by the questions Beatty was asking him because the book was under Montag's pillow. ( Ray Bradbury 64-68)
  • In this first scene, Montag remembers a paper a retired English teacher once gave him with his number on it. Montag tries to call Faber, the retired English teacher, to learn about all the books he has. This is a huge part of the story because Montag is starting to turn away from being a firefighter, and trying to get books back. (Bradbury 76)
  • In this next scene, Montag is ripping pages out of the only Bible left in the world to try to convince Faber to help him with his plan, of placing books inside of firefighters' homes. This is very important to the story because Montag is trying to turn against being a firefighter and rebel against them. (Bradbury 87)
  • In this final scene, Montag and the rest of the firefighter got sent an order to go burn down a house because it has books inside of it. Once they arrived at the house it turned out it was Montag's house. This is important to the story because it showed Montag that the firefighters didnt care about him, but only cared for themselves. (Bradbury 110)
