  • At first scientists thought that life would just poof out of thin air but later it was proved that life can only come from other life
  • POOF
  • In 1924, Alexander Oparin published a book that outlined his thoughts on a gradual progression form simple chemistry to living cells
  • The Origin of Life
  • Metabolic Networks
  • Macromolecules
  • Living Cells
  • Simple molecules
  • Polymer Complexes
  • Biomonomers
  • The RNA world theory shows that RNA kick started life. This is mainly thought because RNA is found in many different cells and they can interact with their environment. Also RNA looks like DNA

  • Also there is the endosymbiotic theory. This theory says that larger prokaryotes consumed smaller ones. Instead of getting digested they lived inside of the large prokaryote.
  • Large prokaryote
  • Smaller prokaryote
  • Also the endosymbiotic theory provides an example that eukaryote evolved from prokaryotes.
