  • After Nasser (an Arab Nationalist stationed in Egypt) nationalised the Suez Canal, they infuriated the British. The British dropped bombs on Cairo and sent troops to retaliate.
  • British and French troops land west of Port Said.
  • The UN is completely against the actions of Britain and France, as is the USA, a strong ally to Britain.
  • We have been humiliated! This is outrageous.
  • The US threatens to cut off financial aid to Britain and the Russians threaten military action if they do not withdraw. On November 6th, the UN declares a ceasefire and orders the British and French to leave.
  • A UN emergency force is sent to the Canal to stop the British and French troops.
  • Humiliated, the British and French troops withdraw from the Canal. They are completely gone by December 22nd.
