  • Even after the Acadian's had signed the treaty the British were not justified. They expected them to sign the oath of allegiance which meant they'd have to fight for the British if they went to war with the French.
  • We want to remain neutral.
  • You must all sign the oath of allegiance.
  • After the Acadian's had disagreed to sign the oath of allegiance they were forced to leave by the British.
  • While the Acadian's were being forced onto ships, families were separated and sent to different places.
  • Mommy!
  • Some families managed to escape into the forest and found shelter with First nations or French communties in the area.
  • Don't worry you'll be safe here with us.
  • Other's died from hunger and hazard while hiding.
  • After the British forced the Acadian's out of Acadia, they burnt down their houses and farms so they would have no reason to return to Acadia.
