At this point our heros had enough. They now realize that they weren't speaking to the people that could do somethings about it.
They went to the Capital and spoke to congress personally.
Hello gentlemen, I presume that you have all seen the protests that have been going on latly.
At the start it did not go so well and there was a lot of arguing.
Thank you so much sir
No problem. Thanks for coming
But after a couple hours they had come up with a solution but it would have to be passed through all of congress and then the president.
And within the next year the 15th and 19th Amendment were passed. They stated that "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
Then the 19th Amendment stated that "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex."
Our heros hard work had finally paid of. Not only did this help women then but it would also pay off to the people in the future.
