  • The bears without the thicker skin died off over time since they didn't have the essential trait to make the land habitable.
  • Some bears had thicker fur while other bears didn't have thicker fur.
  • However the bears with the favorable trait ( thicker skin) reproduced and carried there traits on to there offspring which made polar bears have a larger population.
  • The bears with thicker skin is the more favorable trait because it helped the bears survive in the cold weather and not let them freeze to death.
  • The bears without the thicker skin had the unfavorable trait because they couldn't survive the weather and weren't suited for the environment.
  • Now in present day, all of the polar bears now have the favorable trait of thicker skin to help them be survive and adapt to their new icy land.
