Storyboard Text

  • I say we should tax the Americans on their tea. It is only fair because we are in severe debt from fighting many wars on their behalf.
  • This tax on tea is outrageous, we must do something to show Britain our anger and repeal this tax. What should we do?
  • We should dress up as Indians, board the ship holding all the tea, and dump all the tea into the Harbor.
  • Great Idea!
  • NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!
  • Through the night, the Sons of Liberty snuck to the Harbor where the tea is being held on the ships dressed as Indians to throw the tea into the sea.
  • That night, for three hours, the Sons of Liberty threw 342 chests of tea into the water. The aftermath left people on different sides, some hated the idea and believed the East India Company should be reimbursed, while others were thrilled. Then later Louis XVI passed the Coercive Acts to keep remaining colonies from uniting, but it did the opposite.
