This is my time machine. We will go back in time to look at the beginnings of the cell theory.
We are in England in the year 1675. This is Robert Hooke.
My name is Robert Hooke and I discovered the theory of elasticity. This would later be known as Hooke's Law.
The year is 1681 and this is Anton van Leeuwenhoek.
Hi, my name is Anton and I am known as the father of microbiology. I am one of the first microbiologists.
this is 1820 and this man is Robert Brown.
My name is Robert and I helped pioneer the use of the microscope. I am also a botanist.
All of these people have contributed to the final Cell Theory in some way. The tree properties of the Cell Theory are; 1. All organisms are based on one or more cells. 2. The cell is the basic unit of structure and function. 3. All cells come from preexisting cells.
This has been our adventure through the Cell Theory timeline.
