  • Miranda vs. Arizona in 1966
  • Ernesto Miranda you are under arrest for rape, kidnapping and robbery
  • Miranda got arrested then integrated then admitted to his crime but wasn't read his rights at either encounter.
  • Thinking about his mistakes, he realized he was not read his rights which fails to offer him his 5th amendment. So he wanted to take this to the supreme court.
  • The supreme court agreed to take a deeper look into his case and later agreed 
  • His case was set aside. Then the state of Arizona retried him the correct way with all his rights this time the confession wasn't used. He was still sentenced to 20-30 years in prison.
  • With this case, the law are very strict about stating the rights to the people.
