  • Main Conflict 
  • Raising Action
  • The setting takes place on a Ship-Trapped Island. The time period is around the 1920's and he has just fallen overboard on a yacht. Little did this hunter know that the island he found himself stranded on, he would have to become the hunted. 
  • Climax
  • He then is found by Russian named General Zaroff, and his servent Ivan. They invite him into his home where he learns that he is a hunter that like to hunt humans for more danger. Rainsford is then challenged to a game where Zaroff will find and hunt Rainsford. This is a external conflict; man vs. man. 
  • Falling Action 
  • Over a three day span, the game began to happen. Rainsford would hide in trees and set up traps. This was to help either slow down Zaroff, Ivan, and his best hunting dogs or possible kill them before he was killed. 
  • Resolution 
  • After Rainsford killed Ivan, he only had to worry about Zaroff, who was currently heading to his mansion. As the same Rainsford. As he jumps off a cliff and swims to Zaroff's mansion for a duel. 
  • Rainsford and Zaroff then duel and fight til death. In the end, Zaroff is killed and fed to the hounds. 
  • The story ends, with Rainsford falling asleep in Zaroff's bed. Saying it was the best sleep he has gotten in his life.
