Storyboard Text

  • Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Guards, can we go inside?
  • Absolutely, Your Highness.
  • Hmmm
  • Abra Kadabra
  • *shrieks due to joy
  • Once upon a time, there was a princess named Ramona. Ramona was 6 years old and loved legos, but Ramona she hates the cold. It was real cold at Ramona's Castle, so cold she wished she could travel through time so it was warm again.
  • Remember Milady, straight up and then straight back down.
  • Yippee
  • Princess Ramona decided to follow up on this time travel fiasco. She ordered a local wizard to build her a time machine. However, when the wizard arrived, he said he knew no spells for time travel, but did know a little science and a spell for increased speed and the power of flight. The wizard told the Princess he could turn her bike into a time machine.
  • Princess Ramona was confused, and the wizard could tell. So, the wizard explained. "Well Milady," said the Wizard. "There is this thing called Special Relativity.  This can help you travel forward through time to when it is warm again. But, you can't travel back in time once you go forward. Also, you have to bike in a straight line, or else you won't be able to travel through time.
  • Princess! It's been months, I was beginning to get worried.
  • Yay! It's warm again!
  • And just like that, Princess Ramona was ready to travel through time. She was so excited she didn't even notice how cold it was. The wizard told Ramona to travel through time while flying so that she wouldn't crash into anything while going so fast.  "As you approach 299,792,458 m/s, or the speed of light, on the bike, you will begin to travel forwards through time," said The Wizard.
  • Princess Ramona pedaled as hard as she could and started going very fast. So fast, that Princess Ramona and her bike started squishing together. This is called Length Contraction. Length Contraction is a theory that an object in motion approaching light speed has length shorter than its length at rest. This causes Princess Ramona and her bike to appear as a flat line.
  • WEEEEEEEE
  • When the Princess returned, months had passed at her castle, and the weather had warmed up. But, only minutes passed for Princess Ramona. This is due to time dilation. As The Wizard observed Princess Ramona leave, time passed at a normal rate for the Wizard. But, due to Princess Ramona's increased speed, time passed faster relative to The Wizard
