Etruscan Influence on Sports
Romulus and Remus were twins thrown in a river by their father and raised by a she wolf. When their Grandfather, the king, heard they were alive he gave them a city to rule together. Since Romulus and Remus couldn decide, they fought to the death. Romulus won and named the city Rome.
Greek Influence on Architecture
Etruscans were the first people to stack stones into an arch to build stronger doorways. They also were the first to use concrete in their large public structures.
Greek Influence on Roman Writing, Art, and Religon
Etruscan slave fights inspired gladiator fights. Gladiators would fight each other or wild animals, such as lions.
The Greeks influenced Roman architecture with columns. The semi-circle theater was also used in the Roman Colosseum, the Romans put two of them together.
The Greek alphabet was adopted by the Romans. Then Romans also adopted Greek gods, but gave them Roman names.
