Storyboard Text

  • Sajin got a low test scores let me find out the reason and communicate with his parents.
  • Communicating test scores results of a student who is performing below the expected proficiency level requires thoughtful consideration, therefore it is important to first talk with the student to understand the reason and gain an insight and then make a plan to address the issue.
  • Hi Sajin, I wanted to talk about your performance in the test could you tell me what happened?
  • I could'nt study well as both my parents are working and there is nobody to help me at home.
  • It is important to set up a meeting in a place where there are enough seating places so that parents can sit comfortably and be in a relaxed environment to proceed with the discussion.
  • Hi, it is nice to have both of you here today, please feel free to discuss and have a seat.
  • Make sure to connect through smiles, open posture, a nice handshake, and a warm, sincere tone. Start with something positive to say about the student but keep it short and sweet.
  • I want you start by letting you know that your son Sajin is a pleasure to have in class, he is a hard working boy and very helpful to others.
  • Make sure to have hard copies of the test results that is to be discussed with graphics to show where the student is currently on and where he is capable of reaching. Brief them about the type of test, frequency and purpose of test .
  • Here are Sajin's test results and that is what I want to talk about today
  • I will send home a daily tracking sheet for you to go through and sign. I will also create and share a google file to record all documents so that we have an open source of communication.
  • Be sure to ask parents if they have any questions at least twice during your meeting. involve parents by asking them to monitor home learning on weekends and sign progress reports. Discuss how both parties want what’s best for the child. Set the guidelines and boundaries for future communications.
  • With your permission I would like him to participate in an after school reading program and would suggest that he start right away.
  • Thank the parents for attending the meeting and give them the copies of the test results along with the copies of the intervention plan. Make sure to have them sign a contract that states the purpose and content shared.
  • Thank you for coming to the meeting. Here are the results of Sajin. This is to keep a record and I will share and communicate in a google file. Please, feel free to contact me whenever you feel the need.
