Storyboard Text

  • Circe told Odysseus how to over come the perils they would face and then sent them off.
  • The first peril the men would have to face, were the Sirens. They sang in a sweet voice to lure sailors to them. They sat on a bed of flowers that covered up the bones of men. 
  • Odysseus told is men to tie him to the mast of the ship and to not untie him until they passed the Sirens
  • After they got past the Sirens, it wasn't long until the next peril came , Charybdis and Scylla. Charybdis sucked down the sea 3 times a day and vomited up again. Scylla had 6 heads on a long thin scaly neck and 12 long feelers that she would use to catch her prey.
  • Odysseus and his men went to the rock closest to Scylla and she came out and grabbed at the men. The men that were caught pleaded for their comrades to help them but they disappeared into her cave.
  • The men that were left and Odysseus rowed until they came to an island were Tiresias' cattle ate with the sheep in the fields. The men wanted to stop and rest, because they could row no further.
