  • Aeolus presents Odysseus with a bag containing all of the windsWithin ten days, they are in sight of Ithaca, but Odysseus’s shipmates, who think that Aeolus has secretly given Odysseus a fortune in gold and silver, tear the bag open. The winds escape and stir up a storm that brings Odysseus and his men back to Aeoli. This time he wasn't helped so he then sailed with his men to Laestrygones. they were bombarded with boulders but they survive and sail to Aeaea.

  • the men find circe in a house and she offers food and makes then drunk. she then turns them into pigs. but one member did not turn so he went to Odysseus to tell him because the group had split up. odysseus then saves everyyone by doing what she says and going to the land of the dead.

  • Odysseus is the only one to survive after his long journey. he eventually drifts to the home of Calypso. She kept odysseus on her island for 7 years.

  • circe directs Odysseus and his men to Erebus. There Odysseus sees the souls of many great men, great women, and people who have committed sin. He sees the soul of his lost companion Elpenor, compromising a proper funeral. and his mother who is now dead. Tiresias also speaks to him warning him of what will happen in the future to help him prevent some of these bad thing Filled with horror he sets sail with men.

Odysseus, as instructed by Circe, plugs his men’s ears with beeswax and has them bind him to the mast of the ship. They then go to a strait between Scylla and Charybdis. Scylla is a six-headed monster who eats ships that pass and Charybdis is an enormous whirlpool that threatens to swallow the entire ship. circe helped Odysseus on how to get by.
  • Odysseus tried to warn his men not to stop at helios' island, but his crew didn't listen. He also warned them not to eat the cattle but did that too. Helios got really mad. to make Helios happy, zeus struck Odysseus ship and killed everyone except him.
