Storyboard Text

  • Cell #1
  • This famine is terrible! I should go to that island to get some nuts!
  • Cell #2
  • Hey! I wonder what that is! Wait! That's the island!
  • And there's a boat! Perfect!
  • Cell #3
  • After seven tries, Anansi finally gets there.
  • Every nut Anansi threw landed in the sea.
  • There's a famine, and Anansi wants to go to an island he sees in the distance to get some food for him and his family.
  • Celll #4
  • Well...
  • What happened?
  • Anansi heads over to the beach to find a way to get onto the island for some tree nuts, and sees an old, broken boat he can use.
  • Cell #5
  • He throws another nut into the sea, on purpose this time, just to get back to the cottage.
  • Anansi tried six times to get onto the island and was unsuccessful. On the seventh try, he made it, and tried to get some nuts. He tried in vain to get them to land in the boat. He lost all hope, and decided to jump into the water to get at least one nut.
  • Cell #6
  • Thanks for the stick!
  • Anansi finds Thunder's underwater cottage. After hearing Anansi's story, Thunder gifts him a magical pot that will always have enough food. His family gets suspicious and finds the pot. The wife tells the village, and breaks the pot trying to feed everyone.
  • Thunder's Cottage (underwater)
  • Thanks for the pot!
  • Then his family finds out, and his wife breaks the pot after trying to feed the whole village.
  • Thunder
  • Come get food!
  • Anansi finds out about the pot and goes back to Thunder's cottage in the hopes of another present. Again, Anansi tells his story.
  • Thunder's Cottage
  • What now?
  • Uh...
  • Thunder gives him a stick and bids him farewell. When Anansi tries to use the stick, it beats him and he ends up having to swim to shore with bruises and not one single gift.
  • Do for me what you did for your master. *gets beaten up*
  • I have to get back to shore without my boat, & I'm all bruised! I shouldn't have done that.
  • I wonder what it does...
