Storyboard Text

  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • "O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" (II.II.36)
  • "Shall I hear more or shall I speak at this?"(II.II.40)
  • Outside of Juliet's window after party
  • Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow..."(II.II.151)
  • "Th' exchange of thy love's faithful vow for mine."(II.II.134)
  • Romeo asks Juliet if she wants to marry him
  • "To cease thy strife and leave me to my grief. Tomorrow I will send. (II.II.161-162)
  • "So thrive my soul-" (II.II.163)
  • The idea of love appearing naturally amoung two people is very random and cared for. This forms the motif of rebellion in the story.
  • This scene relates to the motif because Romeo asking Juliet to marry him goes against both of their identities being Montagues and Capulets.
  • In the scene both of them fight against their identities for what they love and what they want.
