Montressor keeps leading Fortunado more and more closer to the Catacombs. He puts on a cloak and replaces a tool he has hidden beneath it.
“You are not of the masons.”
“You? Impossible! A mason?”
“Proceed, herein is the Amontillado. As for Luchesi——”
Montressor's plan seems to be going as expected. They just keep walking and talking as the make their way there.
“He is an ignoramus."
“True, the Amontillado.”
Montressor goes to grab the hidden mortar in the bones.
