Mcdonalds is helping save the water life and all the natural resources. The world famous red and yellow straws are now going to be paper straws.
Mcdonalds wants to make a change because plastic does not break down easily. Plastic straws takes a long time to break for only being used once.

Already have started paper straws in Belgium this year but wants to get it to all the Mcdonalds around the world faster.
People asked Goldstein "Why did you not do this change sooner?" He replied "It's certainly better late than never."
