  • The Electoral College came to be because the Continental Congress couldn't decide who to put as the head of the Executive Branch.
  • We Want Madison!
  • We want Washington!!
  • Electors vote to figure out the President and the Vice President every 4 years.
  • I!
  • Whoever wants Washington, say I!
  • Yes!!! 
  • New York gets 20 electoral votes!
  • Every state has the same amount of electors in the Electoral College as they do in the Senate and The House of representatives.
  • I'm your new President!
  • Originally, the electors voted for two people.  The winner became the President, and the runner-up became the Vice president.
  • I'm your new Vice President!
  • I vote for Donald Trump!!
  • I vote for Hilary Clinton!
  • Within a few years of the convention, people were voting for candidates that the parties were nominating.
  • Yes!
  • Now, the candidate that gets the most votes in a state, wins the electoral vote in that state.
  • Donald Trump wins Alabama 12,273 votes to 10,965.
  • No!
