Engel v. Vitale
Does allowing prayer in public school violate student's First Amendment Rights?
I also feel uncomfortable and feel like I'm being forced...
This prayer makes me feel uncomfortable. This is not my religious practice.
The prayer is mandatory so there is no forced prayer and any child is allowed to not be involved.
Majority Decision believes a government written prayer goes against the First Amendment Establishment Clause.
Dissenting Decision states that since the prayer isn't mandatory students are able to leave or not participate to the prayer or pray on their own.
