Storyboard Text

  • Hey! Did you know, mass and weight are two different things?
  • Really?! I had no idea! Can you explain a little more? I weigh 130 pounds.
  • The reason you weigh that way is because of the gravity on Earth. The amount of gravity on Earth is caused y it's mass. The weight is force pulling you onto Earth.
  • Wow! That's different than I thought. What really is mass though?
  • Good question! Mass is the matter something is made of. Less mass equals less gravity. I can show you more if we go to the moon
  • That makes sense now. But, I will gladly go to the moon!
  • Earth looks huge out here. The moon is a small object compared to Earth
  • Yeah. I feel so much lighter here than I do on Earth
  • Yeah so do I. Check how much you weigh here on the moon.
  • Okay. I weigh.....21.6 pounds on the moon! that is 1/6 of my weight on Earth
  • That is a lot less weight. The reason for that is the moon has less matter. That means less gravitational pull. And THAT means less weight.
  • Wow. That is a lot to think over.
