  • Their decision  is that the Articles of Confederation will be a republic  government

  • It was written in York, PA. The continental congress adopted the Articles of Confederation on November 15, 1777, and it wasn't ratified until March. The Articles of Confederation was created because they needed a stronger government

  • In 1787 delegates from each state met in Philadelphia to discuss ways to improve The Articles of Confederation and George Washington was the leader of the Convention.

  • As a result the Constitutional Convention was the United States Constitution, but it wasn't easy. They wanted the supreme law of the U.S to be perfect
  • We will need two sides to the government and it will need to be to be supported by larger states 
  • Massachusetts tried to settle its war debts by raising taxes on property. This tax hurt farmers particularly hard, and many farmers who could not pay were forced to sell their lands or were thrown in jail. Daniel Shay’s, a Revolutionary War veteran, led a revolt shutting down courthouses.
  • The incident became a national embarrassment, and led leaders to call for a stronger central government. These leaders met in 1787 at a meeting known as the Constitutional Convention.
