- Yay my first paycheck! I think after all of my hard laborious work I deserve a few luxeries.
- Wow! Check out all of that nice furniture for sale! Luckily with my new paycheck I should be able to buy this nice stuff.
- A few days later...
- Hooray! Now that all the nice furniture I ordered has arrived, this place is actually beginning to look nice!
- Man, I am hungry. I suppose I better go down to the grocery store, but first I should see how much of my paycheck I have left.
- A few minutes later...
- Oh No! I blew off all of my money on this useless furniture! How am I going to survive for the rest of the month? How do I pay for groceries, my rent, more clothes, and other basic needs? I need to call my dad, he will know what to do!
- Dad I just blew off all of my money on furniture now I cannot afford anyhthing!
- Oh, I wish I had know that earlier. Thanks, bye.
- Ummm... What's a budget?
- No wonder you got into this mess. A budget is a spending plan for your money. An ideal budget is one that puts needs before wants. The goal is to not go about spending more than the amount you make.
- Well, maybe if you had a budget you wouldn't be in this mess!
- If only I had known about budgeting earlier I wouldn't be in this horrible mess!
