Jeremy wanted those shoes more than anything, but he knew unless a miracle occurred, he would not be able to get the shoes he wanted so badly.
Those shoes, the shoes that everyone in school has . The shoes that me and grandma can't afford.
WOODBROOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
I wish I had the shoes that EVERYONE in school has, I want them more than anything, thought Jeremy.
One day at the Thrift Store, while shopping with grandma, Jeremy found the black shoes with three white stripes. Jeremy was overflowing with happiness until Grandma asked if they fit Jeremy.... They were too tight for Jeremy and did not fit at all, but of course Jeremy wanted them more than anything and bought them anyways.
The next day at school Jeremy saw one of his classmates:Antonio wearing old ragged, ripped shoes. He suddenly remembered he and all of his classmates had made fun of him. When Jeremy came to school wearing his new shoes, he was surprisingly not at all happy. The shoes were too tiny, and were very uncomfortable.
Antonio and Jeremy got to know each other a bit. Grandma invited Antonio over for supper. That was when Antonio saw THOSE SHOES. "How come you don't wear them?" Antonio asked. Jeremy shrugged.
Jeremy knows he has done the right thing!
When morning comes, I take the shoes and put them in my coat. "Before I can change my mind, the shoes are in my coat." Jeremy runs to Anthony's apartment, puts the shoes in front of the door, rings the bell and runs.
